03.19.04 - Do I ever cross your mind, anytime? Do you ever wake up reaching out for me...

:: Sunday, April 20, 2003 ::
Lol, reading the shouts from yesterday's blog (thanks for commenting, btw :D), I just wanted to make a comment about Avril Lavigne. Yes, she's Canadian, but I usually try to support Canadians as much as possible, but HELLO...there's a difference between Canadians who are good and deserve more merit and Canadians who suck and should crawl back into the little holes they came from. For the life of me, I can't figure out what the infatuation with that girl is:
- She can't sing live: can't reach her own low notes, can't reach her own high notes...can hardly reach the middle notes. And has anyone heard her "acoustic" version of Sk8ter Boi (another point: crappy title for a crappy song)? My God...it makes me want to poke my eardrums out with a sharp stick.
- In interviews, she comes off as egotistical, trying hard to seem as if she's against "mainstream" when she doesn't realize that she is "mainstream"...
- That whole thing about her starting the trend with wearing ties. People ask her how it feels to be trendsetter and she has all this bullshit about how she's just being herself and if people want to be like ehr, then that's great...acting as if she invented the freaking tie. Stupid! People were wearing ties before she was, and in my opinion, has been a part of the "skater" culture for quite a long time (er, but long time, I mean a couple of years...)...argh...lol...

Anyway...speaking of Jimmy and Tina:

Haha....that segway was really just an excuse to post up a pic, but anyway, speaking of shipping on SNL, I also used to ship for Chris/Cheri too, Lia, hahaha - especially when they played that inappropriate married couple? They were so good in those ones! And it's not as if I ship for them per se, but I could totally see Seth Meyers (btw, anyone know if that's his brother on MadTV? Josh or something? Wow...talk about sibling rivalry) and Amy Poehler together. Haha, I seriously need a life, what with everything going on between the couples for whom I'm a shipper for, it seems as if my own love life is going through a dry spell...*picturing Em's love life: images of tumbleweeds*

So I've decided that I'm going to have a couple of the day/blog sort of thing, since I'm just itching to babble about my precious, precious couples (or non-couples for some cases, unfortunately).

Today's couple:
Fox (William) Mulder and Dana (Katherine) Scully (aka Sculder) from the famed X-Files! (*cheers*)

Need I say anymore? Hahaha. I think this was my first major obsession and it didn't die down until the end of 9th grade, and I still get giddy at the sight of different XF paraphrenalia. Well, it took excrutiatingly long for these two to finally get together, but they eventually did; unfortunately, it was after everyone had virtually stopped caring (minus me and a few other million people, of course...). To list all their shippy moments would probably fill up an entire book, and to this date, I stand by my theory that this show was one of the best ever produced; or at least, Sculder has been the ultimate couple/non-couple. They were best friends without having to say it; and I think it was Gillian Anderson or Chris Carter who once said that the slightest touch of the hand was equivalent to making love on another show, and that is totally true. I was so disappointed when DD left the show, because even though I enjoyed Doggett as a character, it just wasn't the same. NOT THE SAME....*throwing hands up in the air* NOT THE SAME......................
So it was sort of a shame that when the two finally consummated their relationship, it was totally sweet and deep, but it didn't have as much of an impact as it would have had, had the show ended a season or two earlier.

Hmm....this has been a long entry: I pat you on the back if you've made it this far, hahaha!
